Coming back from far away

Jean left on a 7:45 am flight to Boston, took part of my heart with her and left part of hers here. Karen I slept a lot today...exhausted from a ten mile hike on Bulls Island yesterday...but also from a week of growth spurts in our heart. Oddly, I am not only closer to Jean but also feel much closer to Brian and Melody, and everyone else in my family too. Sort of like long-tensed muscles which constricted emotional flow have released.

Which leaves me, of course, a little bit like a high pressure hose bouncing and shooting water everywhere as I try to tackle it, like wrestling with a...with a what...rocket ship, anaconda, octupus...no, too negative those metaphors...

Anyhow, I also feel very far away from blogging, a heart with lots to say but few words to say it. And also wanting to settle down, reach out and see what I've been missing.

SO -- I will probably not blog as much for the early part of the week and try to spend more time reading blogs of those I love to follow and those who love to follow me. So this blog might be quiet for a couple of days, but I plan to write lots of comments...realizing that comments on bloggs that are older than two days often don;t get read. At least I seldom go back and check comments on older blogs...

Hello, everybody!!

  3. I understand your feeling. Can't wait for them to get here and then can't wait to get back to normal. I miss all my six children so bad I could cry some time. Things will get back to normal.

  4. That "visiting with kids" virus must be going around. ;) My daughter and grandson just left too, after spending almost four weeks here. I felt like I was getting to know her all over again. And now that she's gone, I miss her more than ever. So I get what you're trying to say. Happy wrestling.

  7. Hi Mark

there are times like this when words do not suffice and time is needed to assimilate all those new feelings and thoughts and to find a calm and settled place once again... but a place with added richness and possibilities...

    Happy Days

  10. I think it is good to follow one's instincts and if you feel like taking a break from blogging to get your thoughts in order, that is a good thing. I on the other hand, always seem to have some written diarrhea thing going on.

  12. How thrilling -- to have your heart break open. And don't worry about taking a little time to process everything. . . the rest of us will pick up the blog slack until you're ready (but you did well today).

About the larger photos, Heather is the guru, and you don't need to know much about HTML :)

  14. I can but offer that I am awfully glad that you failed at being Hemingway. You could try for Faulkner, I suppose, although he wasn't the happiest of campers either. Same with Tennessee Williams. Fortunately, but you still have Eudora Welty.

  17. The first paragraph of your post really tells of your weekend. I wish you could post the smile I saw today on your face and the positive vibes coming off of you that others didn't get since I was able to stand next to you and see and feel it firsthand as we spoke this morning.
