"Well, the weather outside is frightful,
inside it's just delightful,
the rest of the words I don't know
so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow."
Oddly enough, in half a century of shooting pictures,
this is the only one I ever took of snow.
I did take one of ice once
I think I slipped and with my chin on the ground, noticed this.
When i lived in Massachusetts, I liked to take ice pictures
from inside, where it was warm.
I preferred sunny fall days back then.
with low slanting light. (1978)
Here in Charleston, however,
it's almost always beach weather
But we do have lots of fog
From early morning before Bagman goes racing...
...until night when Butler looks out the window
before going home from work.
Sometimes I photoshop it to death.
Bagman loves clouds because he sees himself in them...
...sometimes too much of himself.

...
This one, however, seems to capture the Christmas theme
as well as the clouds.
Awesome shoot-out. The first photo is beautiful. The second photo is magical. The beach towels are fun. The bridge is mysterious and I am drawn to it. I too, see a man in the clouds and that ornament is just very cool. what more can I say except I am just a tad envious of all the great photography I have seen thus far on this theme.
ReplyDeleteI love the pier in the fog, and the blue blue snow.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
We had a dense frozen fog this morning . . . and after I took the kids to school sure enough I was outside trying to get some good pictures of it!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are wonderful. I'm amazed that you don't have more snowy shots, though.
the three of you did a great job. Mark the photos are wonderful... I wonder why you arn't out more taking photos NOW ... does Bagman look like Bejamin Franklyn - cause to me that cloud looks like Franklyn.
ReplyDeleteAll the photos are great but the first is my favorite - the ice on the pine looks like a giant snowflake pattern. wonderful.
sorry probably not a pine.... but still looks like nature imitating nature.
ReplyDeleteI love that ice shot! Schmick pics!
ReplyDeleteThis was a great shoot out - variety and great pics! I love the Christmas ball reflection, but that ice shot is really cool! (Pun wasn't intended, but I like it :)
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas bell reflection is my favorite. I am such an amateur but I finally got in.

All of these photos very creative and fun. I really like the wood and sun showing how rough it is. Very creative to use reflections for that last one!! Hats off to you.
ReplyDeleteThe only time we visited Cape Cod, the fog was so thick, we saw two feet of the seashore. We lived in fear of loosing our young teenage daughters in the fog. It's because the water in the Atlantic is colder than the air along the shore. We have the opposite effect in Toronto. Our shallow but large Lake Ontario is usually warmer than the winter air, so we do not get as much snow as other places. You did manage to capture a few snowy, icy pics. Those cloud silhouettes are hysterical! That picture of the lily looking for some rays through the Jack Frost painted window is so gorgeous. A wonderful weather shoot, Mark!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing,
We hope blue skies are smiling at you,
from Barry and Linda xoxo
Wow, those are fabulous! Great job, BB!
ReplyDeleteWhat an eye you have, the Bagman cloud is over the top, and I love the ornament... Once I saw an angel cloud after my daughter passed, I wanted so badly to take a photo by I was in my pool on a raft, too lazy to get out, so I watched her float by...
ReplyDeleteLMAO again..I do love your shootouts..ths shots are stunning..and your sense of humor just cracks me up every week!! Thank you!!:)Sarah
ReplyDeleteI am with Sarah!! lol!! the cloud shots are great. nice series of shots, all are stunning. have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteLike the ice a LOT; love the "low slanting light" one because of my fondness for doors and weathered paint; the Christmas ornament is another favorite because I love reflections. And Bagman bears a certain resemblance to a Roman god, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe ice picture is awesome, sorry it had to be noticed while on your chin! Beautiful ornament!
ReplyDeleteI like the whole lot of your pictures. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love winter photos because winter is so gorgeous (as long as I don't have to be out in it). And rorschach clouds.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! The ice one is particularly captivating.
ReplyDeleteI love that first shot, simply awesome! Being in the tropical island, I just love looking at photographs of snow.
ReplyDeleteGreat intro! It made me smile :-) And the last photo is amazing!
ReplyDeleteBTW, can I grab the best photo of yours that I like? I will make another special post. Thanks in advance!
Wow! These shots are my favorites for this week's assignments. Absolutely amazing! I really enjoyed all your shots.
ReplyDeleteOmigoodness, those clouds are wonderful...!
ReplyDeleteThese are all splendid; it's iced over and nasty out here in OR right now, so I appreciate seeing those towels laid out on the beach: ahhh warm and dry. But the blue-snow photo is just gorgeous, no doubt about that. And the slanting autumn light. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love the low angle of light in the fall - it's my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love your weather shots. I don't have time to look at them good but I will be back. I am running around like crazy. Thought I would pop in so you would not think I was dead, as if you care. Heehe.
ReplyDeleteThe ice and snow caught my attention, as did the fog.
Chow!
Hey, great photos. Remember our days in Hilton Head and the winter there. One of our daughters, Mary, went to College of Charleston. We loved our visits there with her. Do you ever go to the praline shop? Still think about those.
ReplyDeleteIt is bitter cold here in Virginia. Don't know how to get a photo of that unless it is a video of the gauge on my propane tank going down. The photos our Nancy took on her Virginia mountain sort of show that.
Have you been getting ads in your comments from Anonymous? They are getting irritating. How do you scratch them without restricting other comments ?
Your shots are lovely! The last one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I want to move to Charleston and settle down there. Hopefully we'll join you there soon!
Are Linda and I the only ones to think your clouds are hilarious? Love the ice shot and the early morning fog. Great post all round!
