I'm sorry to have missed everyone else's shots on Friday. And my own Friday shoot-out probably would not have been posted if I hadn't already pre-scheduled it. But when we woke up Friday, we had to take Sally to the vet. She was 18. She could no longer stand up and we had to say goodbye to her. Sometime I will do a proper post about her long and happy life and how much she was loved. But not quite yet. I'll be back here soon but need to breathe a little for a couple of days.
And maybe going back and looking at some of your sunrise/sunset pictures will be good the soul as well even if I don't comment on them all.
Oh so sorry about Sally. Yes a nice sweet blog on her happy days will do good.

So very sorry. I know how devestating it can be, having lost our golden 5 years ago. I never imagined I would be thrown so off kilter. Take care of yourself - there is grieving to do - the only way through it is to do it. How lucky you were to have 18 years - but, I know, it was not enough.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences Mark, the loss of a doggy family member can be very difficult. 18 is an amazing age so she must have had a very special life with you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Sally, Mark.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your Sally stories. You loved her that was evident. I'll watch for your return.
ReplyDelete18 years is a long time for a pet's love. You can take all the time you need. Those of us who have lost pets understand.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of the loss of your companion Sally.
ReplyDeleteMany hugs and prayers your way. xxx
Oh, I'm so sorry about Sally, Mark! I do know what it's like to lose a companion/friend like her. And, of course, as Tabor wrote, those of us who have lost pets do understand, so take the time you need. We'll all be here!

Mark, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Have a really good cry and when you're ready, we'll listen to all the stories you want to tell about her.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, Mark. We had to put our 14 year old Yellow Lab down a few years ago. We still miss her.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Mark, I understand. We had to put down our Golden Retriever when I was a junior in college. We got him when I was in Kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I know she was loved, and I know you and Karen gave her the best life.
Hugs,
Jen
I'm so sorry about your losing Sally. She was a great companion and led a long and happy life.
ReplyDeleteAdieu!
Oh Mark, I am sorry. It is heart wrenching isn't it. Love to you xxxx
ReplyDeleteNothing like the loss of a great companion friend. Sorry for you loss. It's really a heart breaking thing to go through. Thinking of you and Karen.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs for you Mark. It is sooo hard saying goodbye to our beloved animals.
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and light.

I will always remember Sally's shoot out. You giving her that opportunity helps me know the sad places in your heart right now, Mark. Also in the hearts of Karen and the rest of the people, animals and imaginary folk coming and going at your house. Sally will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers and my love and good wishes to everyone. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm just waiting for a call from my daughter and her partner. They just got a new little dog which I must meet. We know what it is to lose one, but after a while, you cannot resist and you start it all over again! :-)
ReplyDelete(((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. :(
How very sad. I am not looking forward to the loss of any of our sweet pets. They become so much a part of the family and offer unconditional love and companionship.
ReplyDeletePosting about her (when you are ready) may be very therapeutic for you.
Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. You sure know how to make someone's day! :)
