Two unrelated thoughts during a busy weekend

Ah reality!  A life!  Brian and Melody went to Myrtle Beach for Brian's birthday and Karen and I watched the kids.  Lots of laughter.  Lots of fun.  Maybe a little too much fun.  I've now got a song stuck in my head and it will not go away --

"There was a farmer had a dog and Bingo was his Name-O
B... I... N... G.O...
B... I... N... G.O...
B... I... N... G.O...

     and Bingo was his Name-O.

Brian and Melody got back a little while ago and finally -- with as much politeness as I could muster -- I ran upstairs to have a little amount of time in my cave.

I did have two semi-adult thoughts over the weekend, in between endless episodes of Spongebob Squarepants.   (Who came up with that?  Mickey Mouse I can understand... a talking mouse.  But a character who is basically a... well, a sponge

Oh yes, the two adult thoughts...

  1. Strategic  Planning is simply the creation of a rationalization compelling enough to convince people to let you do what you wanted to do in the first place.  If it is done really well, you can also convince yourself.
  2. I have never doubted God.  But I have always doubted people who claim to know all about God and what he is thinking.  This includes myself whenever I begin to think I understand God.

And now I think I'll go downstairs and rejoin the chaos.

  1. Well, children, very small children, do dredge up deep thoughts, don't they? I always doubt God...but not really God...just what we think he/she/it is. Much doubt but no fear in that. I know that the whatever is good will win in the end.

  2. Strategic planning reminds me of many hours spent in meetings... Nice to be retired!! :-)

  3. Well now that is some pretty deep thinking. I bet you were trying that out just to see if you could still do it. LOL Took me years to get over the influences of "Children's TV" Blessings

  4. Sponge Bob Squarepants was the result of a strategic planning session, I am sure of it. And I really really wish you had not brought that *&^%#!@ B-I-N-G-O song to mind.

  5. I am glad that I do not know the tune to the B-I-N-G-O song - it's bad enough having a colleague who was humming "Volare" behind my back all day yesterday!! AAARGH why did I mention that song now??!

  6. OMG-BWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*wipes the laugh tears from the eyes* That may not have MEANT to be funny but it struck me funny bone big time this morning! Since I've already returned to "adult" duties like teaching and jury duty, I needed a laugh! Thanks!

  7. Unfortunately, I DO know the tune to B-I-N-G-O and (thank you very much, Mark) I am afraid It will be running through my mind when I try to sleep tonight.

Love the adult thoughts and related to both. :)

  8. Yep, the song is now stuck in my head too. When I was a kid we actually had a black dog named Bingo so we were ALWAYS singing that song.

  9. BINGO is one of those brain pleasing ear-worms, and now I have it stuck in my head. Another ear-worm is the Spongebob theme song. ;-) Funny!!

  10. And when you think about God, what makes you think "HE?"
