Next week's shootout

Bagman, Butler and I are sitting in the B&B office scratching out heads and trying to figure out how to shoot next Friday's theme, so creatively picked by Nan -- "The Sounds of My Town."    Butler has already given up because he is a rather concrete thinker and has simply declared it an impossible theme.  Bagman is trying to get into the spirit by wearing a Debbie Reynolds wig, a bright dress, and spinning around singing, "The hills are alive with the sound of music."

I'm just mulling.

We could shoot the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.  If they were playing this week.  I went for a walk earlier and I saw things and I heard things...but they weren't the same things.

I could just shoot anything that makes sound and post it and get off easy.  But I appreciate Nan's creativity and intelligence too much not to try and figure out something of interest.

And, on top of that, I've recently made a semi-promise to myself to try and shoot more things and spend less time pouring through my archives.

Hmmmm.....

  1. Hmm. That IS a challenge. I'd have to give that a lot of thought.

  2. You are such a good blogger by committing yourself to these challenges so seriously! I would just end up not doing it...but then that IS what I do.

  4. It's good for creative minds to have a challenge!

I was challenged by trying to imagine Debbie Reynolds twirling around singing 'the hills are alive ....'. My mind always brings up Julie Andrews singing that one. But a creative 'whack in the head' does get one out of old ruts. Thanks I think. :)

  7. I thought you were going to tell us he was singing "Singing in the Rain." I agree I will have to bend some brains for FSO.

  8. You're right, this is a challenging one. And now about that "blind hike" on the FSO homepage...you're so lucky there are three of you to lead each other around!

  11. Yeah, I'm sure that Bagman will blindfold Butler and lead him into a closet, generating many photos of the dark as he tries valiantly to get out.
    Or something.
    Definitely something.

  14. good for you to take on shooting new photos - instead of noise, sorry - sound - could it be of something that make a sound, like railway crossings or tug boats.... I have my plan so I guess I am not as Butlerish as I thought.... but am still struggling with my computer so don't hold your breath.... by the way I missed your comments on my birds - see I notice when you don't come by.
